What lies beneath...

... the "the"?

It does not show very well, but in the below picture there is a patch where it says "the". It is not just this one banner, but many of them, so I know it is not because it was broken. I have been wondering for quite some time now, what in the earth was there before they corrected it to be "the".

Considering all the Chinglish around, why was it so important to change it afterwards? It has to be something really badly wrong. But how can it be, considering there is only room for 3-4 letters?

I have no answers, just questions.
That is because of the 24 hour surveillance. I don't dare to try and peak beneath the correction. Puzzling.

Do you mean there's no need to put "the" between "you" and "convinience"?

sorry
between "for" and "inconvenience"

I mean they have placed a patch that says "the" to the banner afterwords and I am wondering what was there before the patch. What lies beneath that patch and word "the"...

Ah, maybe it's "an".~~
Some Ad company is not that responsible, so they translated slogan language by using translation machine. So it wouldn't be that correct. And since China, especially Shanghai, paid attention to the FACE of their city, so they would correct those tiny mistakes.~~

That could be...

I just wish they would first pay attention to some other things, like our apartment wall which is bulging because of moisture :o)

I'm just curious, should Finland government be responsible to the apartment wall?
And in Shanghai, the most famous weather is wet, especially during the MEIYU season which means a series of rainy days in late spring or earlly summer~

Nope, I am NOT excpeting Finnish or Chinese or any other government to correct my wall. The thing is, that that poster happens to be set up by the company that owns and manages our compound. But I now realize there was no way for you to know that...

But humid or not, that kind of thing is not supposed to be in the wall. It'll end up growing mould, which then again may cause serious health effects. Therefore, I, and that it is just me, would appreaciate the correction of the wall more than the correct grammar in the poster :o)
